Andy leads the firm’s Technology & Digital Business law practice and is a member of the firm’s Data Privacy & Cybersecurity group. He advises clients in commercial transactions, strategic planning and compliance matters involving new technologies, digital transformation and data – drawing on his prior consulting work at Accenture and his Masters in Technology from Purdue University.
Andy represents clients in a broad array of technology transactions. Recent engagements include domestic and offshore outsourcing (ITO/BPO), IT joint developments, IT strategic alliances, XaaS and cloud subscriptions, IT licensing, software development, and hardware acquisition. He also counsels clients on telecommunications matters including wireless, fiber optic, small cell, DAS, broadband, and infrastructure deployment.
Andy also works with clients to demystify data strategy and IT compliance with a focus on data breach response, privacy and cybersecurity programs. He earned the CIPP/US certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals and serves as the firm’s Chief Privacy Officer. Emerging areas of interest include IoT, AI, Blockchain, smart contracts, smart cities, and connected environments.
While at Purdue, Andy wrote his thesis on the technology risk management practices of Fortune 200 companies. He is a member of ITechLaw (a worldwide technology law community), the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and the Federal Communications Bar Association. He has served as a Director on multiple Boards including the Advisory Board of the University of Wisconsin E-Business Consortium, the Milwaukee War Memorial Center, the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, Nativity Jesuit Academy and two regional law firms.
