Patrick Murphy is a shareholder in the Banking & Financial Institutions and Securities Practice Groups in the firm’s Milwaukee and Madison offices.
Patrick concentrates his practice on mergers and acquisitions, capital raising transactions, bank and bank holding company formations, general securities, financing transactions, and regulatory and compliance matters. In addition, he has specific expertise with respect to Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering matters, as well as in preparing and negotiating technology agreements and Treasury Management Services Agreements.
Patrick serves on the Financial Institutions Task Force of the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants and has served as vice chair of the American Bar Association’s Banking Law Committee. He is a frequent lecturer for the American Bar Association, the Wisconsin Bankers Association Compliance Forum and the WICPA Financial Institutions conference.
Outside of law, Patrick has a passion for music and serves as a member of the board of directors, chair of the finance committee and as treasurer for the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra.
Prior to joining Godfrey & Kahn, he spent six years working for a large national bank and eleven years in public accounting.
