Paul Murphy

Paul Murphy has a diverse work experience in the venture capital industry. Paul currently serves as a Partner at Lightspeed Venture Partners since September 2021. Prior to this, Paul co-founded Katch, a startup in private-beta, in February 2021.

Before their role at Katch, Paul worked as an Investor at Flink, a European fast-grocery business based in Germany, where they co-led a seed round with Cherry. Paul also served on the board until their departure from Northzone in May 2021.

Paul was an Investor at Hopin, an online events platform, from January 2020 to May 2021. Paul served on the board until their departure from Northzone.

Additionally, Paul worked as an Investor for various companies including Bunch, TIER Mobility, Klang Games, and Thirty Madison from 2018 to 2021. Paul served on the boards of these companies until their departure from Northzone.

Paul's earlier experience includes working as a General Partner at Northzone, an early stage venture capital firm, from February 2018 to February 2021. Paul led the firm's investments in several companies including Hopin, TIER Mobility, Thirty Madison, Bunch, Klang Games, Graphy, Flink, and two stealth-mode startups.

Before their venture capital career, Paul served as a Board Director at Dots from January 2018 to September 2020. Paul also co-founded and served as the CEO of Dots from May 2013 to January 2018.

Paul Murphy pursued their education in a chronological manner. Paul first attended Virginia Tech from 1998 to 2003, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering. Later on, from 2006 to 2008, they enrolled at IE Business School, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) focusing on Business.
