Marius Filip has a diverse work experience in the maritime industry. Marius started their career as a Maritime Electrical Engineer at NAVROM Constanta, Romania, where they gained experience on bulk carriers and general cargo ships. Marius then worked as an Electrical Engineer at Tanker Pacific Management, where they gained over 12 years of experience on various types of oil tankers. Marius also worked as an Electrical Engineer at Marinvest Sweden, where they were responsible for checking and testing control systems on an oil product tanker. Additionally, Marius worked at Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha as an LNGC DFDE Commissioning Electrical Engineer. Marius was involved in commissioning electrical systems on LNG carriers. Currently, Marius works at Golar LNG as a Chief Electrician, where they have been involved in commissioning and conversion projects for LNG and FSRU ships. Marius has experience in planning and maintaining electrical equipment and prioritizes electrical safety in all installation activities.
Marius Filip completed their Bachelor's degree in Maritime Engineering (Electrical and Electronic) from the "Mircea cel Batrân" Naval Academy from 1979 to 1983. Marius also holds two additional certifications from The Romanian Naval Authority, including the STCW Certificate of Competency for Liquified Gas Tankers obtained in December 2013 and the STCW Certificate of Competency for Oil Tankers, Chemical and Liquefied Gas Tankers obtained in December 2013.
