Asam Shaibu

Asam Shaibu is a highly experienced Mining Engineering professional with a strong background in hard rock underground and open pit operations. Currently serving as a Senior Mining Engineer at GOLD FIELDS since August 2021, Asam has previously held significant roles including Principal Mining Engineer at Gold Road Resources from May 2012 to August 2021, and Mine Technical Services Superintendent at St Barbara Limited from February 2009 to April 2012. Additional experience includes positions as a Mining Engineer at XstrataCopper, Mount Isa, from March 2007 to January 2009, and at Freda Rebecca Mine from 2001 to 2006. Asam holds a degree from the University of Zimbabwe, completed between 1996 and 2001.
