Cindy Joung has a long and varied work experience. Cindy began their career in 2010 as a Contributing Food Writer at CultureMob. Cindy then moved on to Deca as a Product Manager / Digital Producer. In 2012, they held two positions simultaneously at Slate Studio as a Digital Producer and at Ashe Avenue as a Technical Project Manager. In 2015, they joined AOL as a Product Manager. In 2017, they co-founded and co-led the elevAsian (Asian Employee Resource Group) at Oath. In 2018, they were a Senior Product Manager at Yahoo Entertainment & Yahoo Lifestyle and a Product Manager at Yahoo Play. In 2019, they were a Program Director at Gold House and Head of Product Inclusion and Global Advisor for the elevAsian (Asian Employee Resource Group) at Verizon Media. Most recently, in 2022, they began their role as Product Inclusion at Snap Inc.
Cindy Joung holds a BA in Economics from Northwestern University. Cindy has also obtained several certifications, including a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in May 2021, a W3Cx Introduction to Web Accessibility from W3Cx in August 2020, an HTML/CSS certification from the Grow with Google Challenge Scholarship in January 2018, a User Experience Designer certification from Lynda.com in December 2016, and a Certified Scrum Product Owner certification from the Scrum Alliance in October 2015. Additionally, they have obtained several other certifications from LinkedIn, including Equitable Product Design, John Maeda on Design, Business, and Inclusion, Making a Case for Accessibility in Your Organization, UX Foundations: Research, and Unconscious Bias.
