Andre van Niekerk

Andre van Niekerk has a strong background in finance and leadership roles. Andre is currently the Chief Financial Officer at Gatos Silver, Inc. since 2022. Prior to that, they were the EVP & Chief Financial Officer at Golden Star Resources Ltd., where they held various roles such as Vice President & Controller, Corporate Controller, and Group Business Operations Manager. Andre also served as the Controller - Ghana and Assistant Controller at Golden Star Resources Ltd. Andre was the Chief Financial Officer at Nevada Copper Corp from 2020 to 2022. Before these roles, they worked at KPMG as a Manager from 1999 to 2006.

Andre van Niekerk completed their Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree with a focus on Accounting and Finance from the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria between 1995 and 1999. Andre then pursued an Honors BCom degree in Accounting at the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika from 2000 to 2001.
