Derek Schmidt

Derek Schmidt is an experienced music educator and sound designer with a diverse background. Currently, Schmidt serves as a Sound Designer at Golden Thread Productions, creating original sounds for the production "The Language of Wild Berries." As a Music Educator at Live Oak School, Schmidt teaches beginning piano, guitar, ukulele, and voice to K-10 students, while also having held a similar role at the French American International School. Prior experience includes working as a Political Researcher at HSC, Inc., where Schmidt conducted campaign research, and as an Analytics Specialist at Access-Emanate PR, managing Intuit's PR media measurement program. Schmidt holds a Master of Arts in Music Theory and Composition from California State University - East Bay and a Bachelor's degree in Religion/Religious Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
