Arnold Smit

Arnold Smit is an accomplished professional in risk management and data science, currently serving as VP of Asset Management Risk at Goldman Sachs since January 2023. With a background that includes a role as Senior Data Scientist at NN Investment Partners, Arnold led initiatives to enhance automation and data processes within the Risk Solutions team. Prior to this, experience at Nationwide Building Society involved using analytics and software development to improve business efficiency and customer experiences. Earlier roles included Algorithm Developer at GE Aviation, where Arnold built systems for real-time data analysis, a Freelance Research Consultant at Consumetrics, and Customer Intelligence Researcher at ING, focusing on marketing research. Arnold's career began as a C++ Software Engineer at AOT. Arnold holds both an MSc and PhD in Psychometrics from the University of Amsterdam and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, respectively.
