Ben Walton has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of media production and photography. Ben began their career as a Content Management/Picture Sales Intern at Sports Illustrated in 2012 and later worked as a Staff Photographer/Reporter at Columbia Missourian, where they captured daily news and sports assignments and wrote long-form feature stories.
In 2013, Ben returned to Sports Illustrated as a Photo Intern, conducting photo research for feature stories and shooting sporting events in the New York City area for online publication. In 2014, they served as a Content Management Intern at Sports Illustrated, responsible for managing the Sports Illustrated Picture Collection and producing and directing content management videos showcasing iconic SI photos and stories. Ben also assisted staff photographers during major sporting events.
During the same period, Ben also gained experience as a Video Producer at Golf Digest, working directly with editors to produce, shoot, and edit various video projects. Ben handled invoicing and budgeting operations for the video team and later took on the role of Associate Photo Editor/Video Producer, where they contributed to the website and directed weekly photo operations for Golf Digest's digital magazine titles.
Following their time at Golf Digest, Ben joined Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. in 2018 as the Lead Content Producer, focusing on photo and video production for the New York Knicks. Ben then returned to Golf Digest in 2019 as a Senior Producer - Video, taking on a senior role in video production.
Ben's work experience also includes a role as a Director/TD/Camera Operator at The Crossing and a Senior Photographer at the University of Missouri Athletics. At the University, they photographed various NCAA sports and managed social media accounts for individual sports teams.
