Sean Burke

Sean Burke has worked in the software engineering industry since 2012. Sean began their career as an Application Developer Intern at JPMorgan Chase. In 2014, they became a Software Engineer at Localytics, where they designed and developed horizontally scalable systems leveraging Amazon Web Services, Scala Play framework, and the Akka concurrency framework. In 2015, they moved to Pattern Inc. as a Principal Software Technologist, where they designed and developed algorithms for a new distributed hypergraph database system in C++. In 2017, they became a Co-Founder and Senior Software Engineer at GoNation, where they worked on developing the API for GoNation which is used to power both the website and mobile app. In 2019, they joined Estimize as a Principal Software Engineer, where they worked on Estimize's main software application across the entire stack. Finally, in 2020, they joined Iterable as a Staff Software Engineer, where they worked on the User data ingestion team that built and handled all of Iterable's customer data at scale. Sean also transitioned to a new team working on infrastructure around queueing technologies.

Sean Burke attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2009 to 2013, where they earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Sean then attended MIT again from 2013 to 2014, where they earned a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in EECS-Artificial Intelligence.
