Jakub Franc

Jakub Franc has extensive work experience in the field of UX research and engineering. Jakub started their career at Sun Microsystems as a User Researcher, where they supported the worldwide design team and played a key role in establishing user research processes. Jakub also led successful projects, such as creating Personas for C/C++ developers. Jakub continued to grow in their career as a Senior User Researcher at Sun Microsystems and then moved on to co-found ExperienceU, where they served as the Chief UX Researcher. In this role, they played a crucial role in the company's development. Jakub then joined AVG Technologies as a Senior UX Manager, where they introduced UX Research and built an in-house department. Jakub proved the positive impact of UX research on revenue and played a critical role in successful projects, including major redesigns. Currently, Jakub is working at GoodData as a Senior Director, leading UX and Software Engineering teams. Throughout their career, they have showcased their expertise in UX research, strategic decision-making, and team growth.

Jakub Franc completed an internship in Environmental Psychology at the University of Groningen in 2004. Jakub then earned a Master's degree in Psychology (Mgr.) from Charles University between 1998 and 2005. Subsequently, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Cognitive Psychology at Charles University from 2007 to 2014. In 2014, they attended an Executive Education program on Innovative Organization at the University of California, Berkeley.
