Melissa Richey is seasoned communication professional with more than 20 years of experience in public relations, media relations, marketing, digital media, crisis communications, advertising, and fundraising. Richey has worked with numerous clients such as home builders, fast food restaurant chains, and high-end retail boutiques. Currently, Melissa is the Vice President of Community Engagement with Goodwill Industries of Central Oklahoma where she focuses on the nonprofit organization’s fundraising and communications efforts.
Previously, Melissa was the Chief of Communications for the Oklahoma Health Care Authority where she oversaw multiple strategic advertising and media relations campaigns aimed at increasing awareness of Medicaid benefits for more than one million Oklahomans. Melissa’s team navigated the agency’s statewide advertising campaign aimed at 300,000 Oklahomans newly eligible for Medicaid benefits through the passage of SQ 802, Medicaid Expansion Initiative. The campaign earned the team national recognition as a National Association of Government Communicators Blue Pencil Award and a case study for other states through a partnership with GMMB.
