Apurva Desai

Apurva Desai currently serves as Sr. Director of Engineering for Data Analytics at Google Cloud, a position held since November 2015, where responsibilities include overseeing the development of various data governance and processing tools such as Cloud Dataplex and Cloud Dataflow. Prior to Google, Apurva held senior roles at Motorola Mobility, EMC/Greenplum/Pivotal, and Yahoo!, focusing on mobile cloud engineering, Hadoop distribution, and big data solutions respectively. Apurva's extensive experience in engineering began in the 1990s with roles at companies like Penware and K2T, culminating in a strong foundation in software and data engineering. Educational qualifications include an M.A.Sc. in Robotics and Image Processing from Simon Fraser University and a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering from Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI).
