Girija Narlikar

Girija Narlikar is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in machine learning and technology development. Currently serving as Director of Engineering for Google Workspace since April 2023, Girija oversees the implementation of ML-based protections for a vast user base. Previously, Girija was Director of Engineering at Instacart, focusing on personalized ML solutions for advertising, and contributed to Google's software engineering efforts in managing content classification for ads. With a significant background that includes roles at Facebook, CoreAthena Systems, Wellthy Therapeutics, and Lucent Technologies Bell Labs, Girija has consistently driven innovation in tech-enabled solutions across diverse industries. Girija holds a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University, as well as a B.Tech in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
