Kurt Brown is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in engineering and organizational architecture, currently serving as Senior Director of Engineering at Google since 2013. Throughout a distinguished career, Kurt has contributed to critical projects such as Google Search and Google Maps, enhancing the accessibility and functionality of these platforms. Previous roles include co-founding companies like Wattbot and ELetter, where innovations in energy efficiency recommendations and web-based direct mail services were pioneered, as well as leadership positions at Greenplum and Intel, where Kurt directed research and development in advanced database systems and wireless sensor networks. Kurt holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has also pursued unique learning experiences, including a certificate from Bobby Ore Motorsports Stunt Driving School.
