Vladimir Bacvanski

Vladimir Bacvanski, PhD, currently serves as Principal Engineer (Director) at Google, focusing on the vision, strategy, and technology of software development since May 2022. In this role, Vladimir leads as Uber Tech Lead (UTL) in Google Cloud and has previously held the position of UTL for Search, Assistant, and Bard Engineering Productivity. Prior to Google, Vladimir worked at PayPal from September 2017 to May 2022 as Distinguished Architect (Sr. Director), where leadership involved scaling PayPal to 1 billion daily active users and developing privacy and data platforms. Earlier experience includes founding and serving as CTO at SciSpike, a consulting and software development firm, and co-owning InferData Ltd., which provided consulting to Fortune 500 companies. Vladimir holds a PhD in Computer Science from RWTH Aachen University and completed the Oxford Executive Leadership Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
