Jennifer Ryan

Program Officer, Foundation Special Projects at Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation

As Program Officer for Foundation Special Projects, Jennifer works to advance the foundation’s programmatic interests through special opportunities grants and portfolios, including the Flex Fund, Extraordinary Opportunities Fund, President’s Fund, and Memberships and Contributions Fund.

Jennifer has more than 12 years of experience in the philanthropic and non-profit sectors. Her background includes a broad range of nonprofit operations, including team and program management, budgeting, fundraising, grantmaking and communications.

Before joining the foundation, Jennifer spent seven years at the Rockefeller-endowed China Medical Board and was chief operating officer for an initiative team that designed and launched an Atlantic Fellows program for health equity in Southeast Asia in Bangkok, Thailand. Jennifer also previously worked in program development at the University of Colorado-Boulder and at Harvard.

Jennifer was born and raised in northwestern Pennsylvania. She earned a B.A. in East Asian studies from Connecticut College and an M.A. from Harvard University.
