Sophia Valinoti

Sophia supports the full life cycle of grant development and management of the Science Program's Emergent Phenomena in Quantum Systems Initiative. She also contributes to the annual Moore Inventor Fellows competition.

Prior to joining the foundation, Sophia worked as a Central America Sustainable Business Associate at the U.S. Green Chamber of Commerce. As a student, Sophia supported environmental education at the Santa Barbara Zoo and assisted the support team at the Bren School of Environmental Management and Design. Sophia also has experience collecting scientific data on sea turtles in Costa Rica.

Sophia graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a B.A. in environmental studies, as well as a minor in professional writing with an emphasis on business communication.
