Alex Monroe

Alex Monroe is an experienced music educator and project manager with a diverse background in both nonprofit and educational settings. Currently serving as Thinker & Projects Director at Gorilla 76 since July 2021, Alex previously held roles such as Percussion Coach at Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras and Percussion Instructor at Maine South High School, where quality outcomes and student engagement were prioritized. As Grants Manager and Interim Business Manager for Eighth Blackbird P A A, Alex oversaw a substantial portfolio, implemented work management systems, and enhanced business processes using Salesforce CRM. Earlier experience includes a General Manager position at Lake Forest Symphony, where Alex increased ticket sales and streamlined operations, as well as several roles with Chicago Symphony Orchestra and educational programs.
