Shawkat Islam

Shawkat Islam has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Shawkat currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Gorillamove Limited since 2022. Prior to this role, they were the CEO of Gononet, starting in 2009. During their tenure at Gononet, they also held the position of Managing Director and Business Architect. In these roles, they generated new development deals for an online service provider company and successfully designed and developed web-based solutions for the Bangladesh Army and Bangladesh Air Force. In 2009, Shawkat Islam founded Choukash. Before their career in the private sector, they served in the Bangladesh Army, where they retired as a Captain. In this position, they administered and managed Army small units as a junior commander and administrative officer. Shawkat Islam was commissioned with the 25 BMA long course.

Shawkat Islam holds a Master's degree in Enterprise Architecture Management from Arden University, which was obtained from 2022 to 2023. Prior to that, from 1989 to 1991, they completed their Bachelor of Arts in Humanities/Humanistic Studies at the University of Chittagong. In the same time period, they also graduated from the Bangladesh Military Academy. Shawkat'searlier education includes studying Science at Government Science College, where they obtained their HSC degree from 1981 to 1989.
