Troy Vennon has over 20 years of experience in various roles within the field of information security. Prior to their current position as Director of Security Innovation at GoSecure, they held the same title at Covail. Their responsibilities in these roles included developing innovative security strategies and solutions.
Before that, Troy worked at SMobile Systems/Juniper Networks/PulseSecure as the Director of the Juniper Mobile Threat Center. In this role, they led a team focused on mobile security, offering services such as mobile malware analysis, platform security testing, and awareness education.
Troy also has experience as an Information Security Consultant at a security consulting company, where they developed comprehensive information security policies, assessed risk, and provided direction for mitigating weaknesses. Troy also provided training to raise awareness of information security in both personal and professional settings.
Their previous experience includes a role as an Information Security Analyst at Defense Logistics Agency, where they maintained IDS/IPS systems and responded to network incidents. Troy was also responsible for managing the ArcSight log aggregation and correlation tool.
Troy started their career as the Supervisor and lead analyst of the Intrusion Detection/Incident Response Cell of the Marine Computer Emergency Response Team (MARCERT) at MCNOSC, USMC. In this role, they oversaw the identification and analysis of network traffic for malicious intent, conducted virus activity analysis, and reported incidents to higher-level agencies.
Throughout their career, Troy has demonstrated expertise in information security, with a focus on innovation, mobile security, and incident response.
Troy Vennon has completed a degree at Pickerington H.S. from 1992 to 1996. Additionally, they have obtained two certifications from EC-Council, namely the Certified Chief Information Security Officer from EC-Council University and EC-Council.
