Sahar Alaei has worked in various roles since 2013. In 2013, they were a Lab Instructor and Research Assistant at Isfahan University of Technology, where they proposed and simulated a new compression technique based on Mathematics theory to reduce the volume of stored and transferred data in smart grid. Sahar also worked as a Research Engineer at Avionics Research Institute, where they conducted research in the field of airplane landing gear control. In 2016, they became a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Kentucky, where they developed an algorithm for prediction of Ventricular Arrhythmia. In 2018, they worked as a Product Engineer at VenoStent, Inc. and in 2019, they became a Staff Faculty at The University of Texas at Austin, where they worked on the development of a prototype for cosmetic purpose. Currently, Sahar is a Software Engineer at Gotransverse, where they are implementing RESTful APIs using swagger and python and collaborating with teammates on technical design, work estimation, and implementation of new features.

Sahar Alaei is currently enrolled in The University of Texas at Austin, pursuing a Certificate in Data Analytics and Visualization. Prior to this, they obtained a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Kentucky in 2018. Sahar also holds a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Isfahan University of Technology, which they completed in 2016. Her Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering was also obtained from Isfahan University of Technology in 2013.
