Tony Shannon

Tony Shannon is an experienced leader in healthcare and digital services, currently serving as the Head of Digital Services at the Department of Public Expenditure & Reform since September 2020. Tony's prior roles include Director at the Ripple Foundation, where Tony supported the integration and transformation of healthcare, and Director at Frectal Ltd, a company focused on complex systems and healthcare IT consultancy. Tony has held significant positions within the NHS, including Chief Clinical Information Officer for Leeds Teaching Hospitals and Clinical Consultant at NHS Connecting for Health, contributing to major healthcare IT initiatives. An Honorary Research Fellow at University College London and a former Consultant in Emergency Medicine, Tony's academic qualifications include an MB BCh BAO from University College Dublin, an FCEM from the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, and an MSc in Information Technology Management.
