John Duffy Tilleman

John Duffy Tilleman has a diverse work experience in various companies and roles. John Duffy is currently a Co-Founder and Lead Software Engineer at Volition since May 2020. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Astra from November 2019 to May 2020. From 2013 to 2019, John worked at Plethora as a Lead Infrastructure Engineer, where they designed and managed a team of six and worked on multiple projects involving Node.js, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, and Angular. At Couchsurfing, they held roles as a Lead Engineer and Senior Software Engineer in 2013, leading various projects such as avatar collage generation, messaging API scalability, and browser fingerprinting tool. Before that, John worked as a Lead Developer at newhive.com from August 2011 to December 2012. John Duffy also served as the Director of Technology at Lumana from October 2009 to August 2011, leading technology sourcing and creating a custom Ruby on Rails app. John co-founded SolarCycle in 2008 and led the design and engineering of solar ovens and water treatment systems. John Duffy also worked as a Research Assistant at Brown University/Solaris Nanosciences in 2007 and as a Quality Control Lab Summer Intern at Hydrite Chemical Co. from 2004 to 2006.

From 2005 to 2008, John Duffy Tilleman attended Brown University, where they obtained a Sc. B. degree in Engineering and Physics.
