Derrick Yancey has worked in the Human Resources field since 2001. Derrick began their career as a Realty Specialist for the GSA in 2001, where they also managed the analysis and delivery of GSA's Gallup Q12 employee engagement survey and GSA's Rotational Internship Program. In 2005, they became an Organizational Effectiveness & Diversity Trainer at Purdue University, where they co-led the reorganization of the recruitment process for the Human Resources department. In 2006, they joined Monar Consulting Inc. as a Project Assistant, leading organizational gap analyzes, work simplification and measurement studies for team-building and leadership development strategies. In 2008, they became an Organizational Development Consultant at NiSource, partnering with Senior Business Unit Executives and Director of Human Resources with the development of a change management implementation strategy. In 2010, they joined Whirlpool Corporation as a Real Whirled and Curriculum Development Manager and Mgr. of Organizational Development, assisting IT senior leaders with the creation, communication and implementation of leadership, talent management and employee engagement best-practices. In 2013, they became a Sr. Human Resource Business Partner, Sr. Human Resource Manager, and Organizational Change Manager III at Walmart. In 2018, they joined Anheuser-Busch InBev as a Sr. Human Resource Manager, leading a team to develop, implement, and measure successful large-scale business and HR initiatives. Also in 2018, they became a Founding Member at Grablr. In 2019, they joined Nike as a Human Resources Sr. Director Nike Global Technology and Human Resources Director for Nike Digital Product, partnering with Nike's Technical Product Sr. Leadership team to create and deliver innovation/best-in class people strategies, processes, and programs.
Derrick Yancey has a comprehensive education history, beginning with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Purdue University, which they obtained between 1996 and 2000. Derrick then went on to obtain a Master of Arts in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Roosevelt University between 2001 and 2005. Derrick is currently enrolled in a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Business Psychology program at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, which they began in 2006.
Yancey has also obtained several additional certifications, including the Nike, Inc. DEI Leadership Acceleration Academy from USC Marshall Executive Education in May 2022, the A2E Business Fundamentals from McKinsey & Company in December 2021, the Management Accelerator Program from McKinsey & Company in December 2021, Business Strategy from McKinsey & Company in September 2021, Problem Solving from McKinsey & Company in July 2021, and Behavioral Based Interviewing from DDI | Development Dimensions International. Derrick also has certification in MBTI.
