Éamon Ryan

Éamon Ryan is a Principal Field Engineer at Grafana Labs. Prior to their current position, they were an Advisory Solutions Architect at Pivotal from December 2016 to March 2020. As one of the first members of Pivotal's Platform Reliability Engineering (PRE) team, they worked with architects to bring Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices to the deployment and operation of customer application platforms by Pivotal. Éamon also worked with Pivotal's strategic customers on Agile, Infrastructure-as-Code, Elimination of TOIL, CI/CD, and other concepts. In addition, they were the lead architect of an advanced technical course that taught cross organisational and customer attendees how Pivotal's distributed application platform (PAS/PKS) is deployed in practice. Éamon has also worked closely with developer teams of key Pivotal products to bring first-hand field perspective to the table and influence design/features of future releases. Éamon is a subject matter expert for VMware products (vSphere/NSX) and has also mentored new architects.

Éamon Ryan has a BSc Honours in Software Development from Munster Technological University. Éamon also has certifications from VMware in VMware Certified Advanced Professional 6 – Cloud Management and Automation Deployment, VMware Certified Implementation Expert 6 – Cloud Management and Automation, VMware Certified Advanced Professional 6 - Cloud Management and Automation Design, VMware Certified Advanced Professional 6 - Data Center Virtualization Deployment, VMware Certified Professional 6 - Cloud, VMware Certified Advanced Professional 5 - Data Center Design, and VMware Certified Advanced Professional 5 - Data Center Administration. Additionally, they have certification from VMware in VMware Certified Associate - Cloud and VMware Certified Associate - Data Center Virtualization.
