Project Engineer at Granlund

Amanda Laakkonen has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Amanda started their career as a Sales Advisor at H&M in 2016, where they provided customer service and was responsible for cleaning and opening/closing the store. In 2017, they worked as an Assembly Line Worker at GE Healthcare, assembling gas modules and gaining experience in soldering and working with electrical components and robots.

Amanda joined McDonald's in 2015 as a Trainer, where they learned to prioritize tasks and remain calm in a fast-paced customer service environment. Amanda then returned to GE Healthcare in 2016 and 2017 as an Assembly Line Worker, continuing to assemble gas modules.

In 2018, Amanda took on the role of a Production Team Leader at GE Healthcare, overseeing the production of Spectrolite, MiniC, and Hemo-modules. Amanda managed a team of approximately 25 subordinates and planned future production based on orders and resources.

In 2019, Amanda worked as a Cabin Crew member at Finnair before joining Granlund as an Electrical Designer Trainee in early 2019. Amanda later transitioned to the role of an Electrical Design Engineer in May 2020.

Amanda also worked as a Thesis Worker at Granlund in 2020 and completed a Master Thesis Project there from January to July 2022.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, they temporarily assisted GE Healthcare as a Production Team Leader, focusing on increasing production management and implementing LEAN and 6S practices.

Amanda Laakkonen's education history includes a Master of Science (Technology) degree in Automation and Electrical Engineering from Aalto University, which they obtained from 2020 to 2022. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Automation Engineer Technology/Technician from Metropolia University of Applied Sciences from 2016 to 2020. In 2019, they also obtained a Cabin Crew certificate from Finnair Flight Academy - FFA, specializing in Aviation/Airway Management and Operations. Amanda completed their high school education at Vaskivuoren Lukio, where they obtained their High School Diploma from 2013 to 2016.

Amanda has also obtained additional certifications throughout their education. In 2016, they obtained a Hygieniapassi (Food Hygiene Passport) from the Finnish Food Safety Authority Evira. In 2019, they received a Cabin Crew attestation from Liikenne- ja viestintävirasto Traficom (Transport and Communications Agency Traficom). Most recently, in July 2023, they acquired a Sähkötyöturvakortti (Electrical Work Safety Card) from Presto.
