Matt Denyer

Matt Denyer has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Matt started their career as a teacher at St. George's School in 1995. Matt then worked as a commercial journalist and project director at International Communications and Advertising, managing international media projects in different countries. From 2000 to 2001, they worked as a freelance project coordinator at International Press Services, coordinating promotional journalistic supplements in Venezuela, Algeria, Ghana, Guinea, and Indonesia.

In 2005, Denyer joined CGC Carbones as a purchasing manager, overseeing the purchasing activities and sales accounts in South Africa, Ukraine, and the Caribbean/Gulf of Mexico Basin. Matt later moved to CGC Gestión de Biomasa, where they served as the head of international business development. In this role, they were responsible for sourcing biomass products, developing relationships with traders and primary producers, and managing CGC Group's plants in North America and Africa.

Denyer joined Gransolar S.L. in 2011 as the director of international business development for the EMEA region. Matt successfully closed and built a 1MW solar PV plant in Bulgaria and revamped the company's marketing and communication strategy. In 2013, they became the country manager for Gransolar in South Africa, establishing subsidiaries and executing contracts for renewable energy projects. Matt also developed new business opportunities and provided support for PV projects in sub-Saharan Africa.

From 2017 to 2021, Denyer worked at GRANSOLAR GROUP (GRS) as the director of business development for Southern & S.E. Asia. Matt led project development for solar PV opportunities in Nigeria, Vietnam, Australia, and India. Matt also focused on business development and strategy for EPC, O&M services, and energy storage solutions in Southern Asia, South East Asia, and Australasia.

Currently, Denyer is the commercial director at Gransolar Group's UK division, overseeing commercial operations in the country.

Overall, Denyer has a successful track record in project management, business development, and international operations in the renewable energy and media industries.

Matt Denyer completed an International MBA in Business Management at IE Business School from 2001-2003. Matt also pursued an International MBA in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies at SDA Bocconi for a year in 2002. In 2008-2010, they became an awarded member of the Chartered Institute of Shipbrokers through the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers London/Distance Learning. In terms of their undergraduate degree, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Ocean Sciences and Astronomy from the University of Plymouth from 1990-1993. Additionally, they acquired a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education from the University of Newcastle.
