Jie Zhao

Jie Zhao, CPA, CGMA has a diverse work experience in the field of tax and business advisory. Jie started their career in 2011 as an Associate in PwC's China Tax and Business Consulting. Jie then progressed to become a Senior Associate before joining Grant Thornton China in 2014 as a Tax Manager. During their time at Grant Thornton, they also served as an Interim Tax Manager at Primetals Technologies China Ltd. In 2018, they moved on to work as a Senior Manager in Tax at TGS Nortex and later as the China Tax Manager at Aptiv. Jie is currently working as the Director of Tax and Business Advisory, Data Analytics at Grant Thornton China, where they have successfully established significant tax service engagements and managed numerous tax and business advisory projects.

Jie Zhao, CPA, CGMA holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Shanghai International Studies University, obtained in 2011. In 2017, Jie obtained the CPA certification from CPA Australia. In 2021, Jie earned the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation from CIMA. Additionally, Jie has obtained several certifications, including the IBM Data Warehouse Engineer Certificate, Google Advanced Data Analytics Certificate, and IBM Data Science Professional Certificate, all obtained in 2023. Jie is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Data and Decision Analytics (online) from The University of Edinburgh, with an expected completion date in 2025. Jie also holds the Certificate of Test for English Majors (TEM 8) from the Higher Education Foreign Language Teaching and Research Association.
