Shane Kalpage

Shane Kalpage has a diverse range of work experience in software operations, DevOps, software engineering, hardware verification, and telecommunications engineering. Shane currently holds the position of Director of Software Operations at Graphcore, where they are responsible for leading and building an exceptional DevOps team. In this role, they focus on productizing the AI Software Development Kit (SDK) and implementing software development workflows and tools using various technologies such as Python, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Prometheus, and Jenkins. Prior to this, Shane was a Software Engineer at Graphcore, contributing to software development projects and gaining experience in AI/ML, data science, parallel processing, chip architectures, CI/CD, and distributed ML Ops. Shane also has prior experience as a Senior Engineer and Release Lead at SN Systems Ltd, as a Contractor at Hewlett-Packard, and as a Telecommunications Engineer at London Central Communications.

Shane Kalpage attended St. Tomas's Prep School for high school. Afterward, from 2003 to 2007, they studied Digital Systems and Computer Engineering with a focus on Electronics at the University of Hertfordshire.
