Rieks Smook

Rieks Smook has worked in the financial industry since 2000. Rieks began their career at NIBC Bank as an Account Manager F&A. In 2002, they joined Rabobank International as an Executive Director Capital Markets Loan Syndication and a Relationship Manager for Food & Agri corporates. In 2011, they moved to Rabobank's Hong Kong Branch as the Head of Capital Markets Asia and Managing Director. In 2017, they returned to Rabobank in the roles of Senior Project Manager, Closing of Rabobank Indonesia, Senior financial restructurer, coordinator Asia and Head of Credit Portfolio Management Rabobank, Managing Director, Senior Portfolio Manager Wholesale. In 2020, they left Rabobank to become the Director Of Business Development at Rieks' Food for Thought Enterprises. Most recently, in 2021, they became the Chief Executive Officer of Grassa! | Meer Waarde Uit Groen, where they are responsible for developing technology that unlocks the full potential of grass.

Rieks Smook attended Wageningen University & Research from 1994 to 1998, where they obtained a Master of Science in Agricultural Economics. Prior to that, they attended C. Agrarische Hogeschool Dronten from 1990 to 1994, where they earned a Bachelor in Agricultural Management.
