Alex Uber focuses his practice on helping businesses, inventors and entrepreneurs protect their portfolio of intellectual property assets. He guides clients through every aspect of a wide variety of patent, trademark and trade secret matters, including strategic planning, prosecution, licensing, and the enforcement and defense of rights in the courtroom.
Alex is a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He has prosecuted patents across a number of industries, ranging from software applications and oil and gas to waste management, pharmaceuticals and medical devices. With his unique background in programming, Alex can identify issues quickly and develop practical solutions for protecting and monetizing software applications and a variety of other complex technologies.
In addition to his intellectual property practice, Alex assists the firm’s litigation team in a broad range of commercial disputes, including cases involving breach of contract, fraud, breach of fiduciary duties, and much more.
Dedicated to serving his community, Alex is a non-faculty advisor for the USPTO’s licensed IP clinic program at Baylor Law School, which focuses on mentoring law students and helping local inventors and entrepreneurs protect their intellectual property rights.
