Kate Maehr serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Chicago Food Depository, a position held since July 2006, where leadership involves guiding the organization in its mission to combat hunger through collaboration with a large staff, volunteers, and community partners. In addition to this role, Kate Maehr is actively involved as Co-Chair of the Chicago Food Equity Council and the Illinois Commission to End Hunger. Membership on the Board of Directors for Feeding America commenced in June 2016, and involvement with the Center for Nutrition & Health Impact as a Board Member began in April 2024. Kate Maehr also contributes as a member and Working Group Chair of the Illinois Commission on Poverty Elimination and Economic Security. Kate Maehr's academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree from Macalester College and a Master of Arts in Public Administration and Policy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
