Ieesha McKinzie Collins has an extensive work experience in various organizations.

Ieesha is currently the Managing Director of ConnextMSP at GREATER MSP Partnership, where they lead a strategic initiative to recruit, hire, and support Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) in the Greater Minneapolis-Saint Paul region.

Prior to their current role, they worked at Breakthrough Collaborative as the Managing Director of External Relations, where they were responsible for supporting fundraising campaigns, advancing diversity and inclusion initiatives, and leading the organization's development and communications efforts.

Ieesha also has experience at KIPP Texas Public Schools - Houston as the Director of External Communications and Director of Marketing and Communications, where they managed strategic communications, media engagement, crisis communications, and public relations.

Before that, they were a Broad Resident in the Educational Leadership Program at The Broad Center and held roles at General Mills, where they served as the General Mills Foundation Communications Manager and Education Program Officer, as well as the Senior Integrated Shopper Marketing Planner.

Their earlier experiences include working as a Senior Marketing Communications Planner at General Mills, a Development & Communications Specialist at Breakthrough Collaborative, a Teach for America Corps Member at Atlanta Public Schools, and a Press Desk and Stage Manager for the Scripps National Spelling Bee at The E. W. Scripps Company.

Additionally, they served as the Editor in Chief for Hampton Script.

Ieesha McKinzie Collins has a diverse and well-rounded education history. Ieesha began their educational journey in 2002 at Hampton University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Communications. Ieesha dedicated four years to their undergraduate studies, completing them in 2006.

After a few years, Ieesha decided to expand their knowledge and enrolled at Northwestern University in 2011. There, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Integrated Marketing Communications. Ieesha successfully completed their program in 2012 and gained valuable insights into the field.

In 2017, with a desire to make a positive impact in the field of education, Ieesha returned to academia. Ieesha joined the Broad Center for the Management of School Systems to pursue a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership. Ieesha dedicated two years of their life to this program and completed it in 2019.

Through their educational journey, Ieesha has acquired a strong background in journalism, communications, integrated marketing, and educational leadership. Their varied educational experiences provide their with a comprehensive skill set that they can apply to various professional endeavors.
