Maggie Johnson

Maggie Johnson is a Community Engagement Coordinator at the Greater Portland Council of Governments, focusing on including historically underrepresented communities in transportation planning. Currently involved with First Descents as Lead Staff, Maggie leads outdoor adventure programs for young adults with cancer or MS. Experience at Preble Street involves empowering unhoused youth through support services, while previous roles include Bike Mechanic and Tour Guide at Lighthouse Bikes, and Lead Staff for biking and hiking trips with Backroads. Maggie also served as an Outdoor Educator with Naturalists At Large and held multiple policy internships, including at the United States Congress and Franklin Square Group. Maggie holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies and Economics from Oberlin College.
