Lian Butcher

Lian Butcher has a comprehensive background in environmental science and conservation, with experience in various roles such as Habitats Directive Coordinator and Fisheries Scientist. Lian's current role as Group Manager Environment at Greater Wellington Regional Council involves providing leadership in the conservation of freshwater, estuarine, and marine ecosystems and species. Previous experiences include managing environmental science teams, leading freshwater monitoring projects, and coordinating conservation efforts. Lian holds a MSc in Fisheries and Shellfish Biology and a BSc in Marine Biology from Bangor University.
