Ben Vickers currently serves as the Land Use, Forests and Ecosystems Sector Senior Specialist at the Green Climate Fund since February 2021, playing a key role in enhancing the fund's portfolio effectiveness through independent reviews, technical guidance, and developing appraisal guidelines. Prior to this, Ben coordinated regional forestry and climate initiatives with the FAO from May 2012 to February 2021, focusing on technical support for REDD+ and resource mobilization for climate-related projects across Asia and the Pacific. Additional experience includes roles at Silvestrum VoF as an associate consultant, RECOFTC as a senior program officer, SNV as a forestry adviser, and GIZ as a forestry adviser, contributing to international forestry and climate change initiatives and policy development. Ben holds an MSc in Forestry from the University of Oxford and a BSc Honours in Forestry from the University of Aberdeen.
