Carolina Fuentes has held various roles related to climate change and environmental affairs throughout their career. Carolina began working in the field in 2005 as an Advisor in Climate Change and Energy at the Secretaría de Energía. In 2006, they joined the Secretaría de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales as the Director of Climate Change. Carolina then advanced to the position of Deputy Director General of International Cooperation in 2013. From 2014 until the present, they have worked at the Green Climate Fund, where they have held roles such as Secretary to the Board and Head of Governance Affairs, and most recently, Director of the Division of Country Programming.
Carolina Fuentes completed their MSc in Nature, Society and Environmental Policy at the University of Oxford from 2003 to 2004. Prior to that, they attended the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, but no specific degree or field of study is mentioned.
