Cormac O'Laoire, PhD has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the Li-ion battery industry. Cormac began their career as a Teaching Assistant at Northeastern University, where they instructed students in general chemistry and advanced physical chemistry courses. Cormac then worked as a Research Assistant, focusing on the development of non-noble metal chalcogenide clusters for oxygen reduction reaction in fuel cell applications, as well as investigating carbon-based materials for Li-ion batteries.
After their time at Northeastern University, Cormac worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, where they conducted research in the field of materials science. Cormac then returned to Northeastern University as a Postdoctoral Fellow, leading a Direct Methanol Fuel Cell initiative and conducting synthesis and analysis of electrocatalysts for methanol oxidation.
In 2013, Cormac took on the role of Managing Director at Electrios Energy, where they utilized their expertise in strategy, supply chain, and materials to serve clients in the Li-ion battery industry. Cormac also achieved recognition for securing one of the largest battery arbitration awards in Hong Kong or China.
In 2022, Cormac joined Green Li-ion as the Head of Strategy, where they focus on the recycling of Li-ion batteries and provides industry-leading recycling solutions.

Cormac O'Laoire, PhD, obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Chemistry, specializing in Physical Chemistry, from Northeastern University. Cormac pursued this degree from 2004 until 2010. Prior to that, they completed a Master's degree in Materials Science and a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry at University College Cork in 2004.
