Clayton Clark serves as the General Manager of Green Mountain Transit, overseeing Vermont's largest regional public transportation network since January 2023. Previously, Clayton held the position of Executive Director at The Converse Home, effectively navigating the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic while managing a comprehensive care team and a $5 million budget. From June 2001 to March 2019, Clayton directed the Division of Licensing and Protection for the State of Vermont, improving operations and handling significant staffing challenges. Earlier roles include serving as Vermont’s first post-Vietnam Director of Veterans Affairs, where Clayton established support systems for veterans, and as a Captain in the United States Air Force, recognized for innovative contributions to human resources and mentorship. Clayton holds a Master of Liberal Arts in Government from Harvard Extension School and a Bachelor of Arts in English/Journalism from Binghamton University, along with certifications in nursing assistance and leadership training.
