Alix Dunn

Originally a Westchester County native, Alix spent over two decades in California working to protect and enhance the coastal and marine environment. She spent many years as the President and CEO of Santa Monica based Heal the Bay, a non-profit dedicated to protecting the Santa Monica Bay and LA County coastal waters. She also worked in a public/private partnership with California State Parks in Newport Beach at Crystal Cove Conservancy.

During her roles as an environmental advocate, leader and educator, Alix’s focus has been inspiring the next generation to share her passion for protecting our natural world. Alix and her husband re-located back to Westchester in 2019. While exploring her community, her trips to the Greenburgh Nature Center sparked a desire to get involved professionally, and to bring her knowledge and background to a local organization that is a treasured resource in the community.

As Executive Director, Alix is responsible for overall management, operations, fundraising and organizational structure. She receives guidance and works closely with the organization’s Board of Directors to ensure the strategic vision and mission of the organization is achieved.
