Alta Ray has extensive work experience in the field of employment law and compliance. They have worked for various organizations in roles such as Employment Counsel, Employee Relations Partner, Global Employee Relations Investigation Lead, Senior Employee Relations Partner, and Deputy Director. Alta has provided legal advice, conducted investigations into workplace concerns, ensured compliance with employment laws, and developed and implemented scalable employment processes and procedures. They have also taught courses on employment law and human resources compliance at universities. Alta's expertise includes handling complex and sensitive investigations, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and representing employers in litigation matters.
Alta Ray obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Family Studies from the University of Maryland in 2008. Alta then went on to attend Howard University School of Law from 2008 to 2011, where they earned their J.D. degree with honors (cum laude).
In terms of additional certifications, Alta became a member of the Maryland Bar in December 2011. Alta later became a member of the D.C. Bar in December 2012. In May 2014, they achieved the Associate Member status with the Virginia Bar. Additionally, in July 2018, Alta obtained the Senior Professional in Human Resources® (SPHR®) Certification from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI.
