Chris began his non-profit career as a student activist over 15 years ago when he co-founded and co-led KIDS FIRST, a 501(c)4 dedicated to successfully securing the passage of a $78 million bond initiative to provide crucial funding for his community’s failing education system. He and the KIDS FIRST team succeeded; making this bond issue the first to pass in his community in more than 40 years.
Chris has since held a variety of roles within the nonprofit sector and honed his approach to leadership and passion for centering social justice and racial equity at the Phillips Brooks House Association (PBHA). After 6 years with PBHA, Chris became a founding member of uAspire’s national training team and led the creation and growth of the operations, marketing, and communications needed to train college access and success practitioners across the country. Throughout Chris’s tenure with uAspire he served as the organization’s first Chief of Staff and first Chief Talent Officer and had a direct role in growing the organization from a small state-based non-profit to a national organization poised to create tremendous change.
Chris has always been propelled by the belief that together we can make our world more just and equitable, and that through putting people first, and providing the necessary tools for success, no challenge is too great to overcome.
