Karel Bollen

Karel Bollen has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Karel currently holds the position of Head of HR & People Analytics at Greenly, a company focused on carbon footprint tracking and climate change mitigation. Prior to this, Karel was a Founder & Consultant at Bolt., where they provided consulting services. Karel also worked as a Senior Consultant in People Analytics at Deloitte, specializing in strategic workforce planning and HR analytics.

Karel has previous experience at ING Belgium, where they held various roles such as Key Account Manager for Corporate Clients, Management Trainee for Tribe Mortgages and KYC Center, and a Regulatory and International Affairs Trainee. This allowed him to gain expertise in financial advising, risk management, and regulatory affairs.

Before joining ING Belgium, Karel worked as a Project Manager in Fraud & Cyber Security, ensuring a smooth merger of two fraud case teams. Karel also held the position of Management Consultant at Capgemini Consulting, where they provided consulting services. Additionally, Karel worked as a Business Analyst Intern at A.T. Kearney, supporting post-merger integration of energy companies.

Karel has also gained legal experience as a Legal Intern at DLA Piper, focusing on intellectual property and IT law. Earlier in their career, Karel worked as a Chess Coach at Wallace Chess Ltd and as a Language Instructor and Tutor at CLIP taalvakanties vzw and Sagio.be respectively.

Karel Bollen has a diverse education history with a focus on business law and economics. Karel obtained a Bachelor's degree in Law & Economics from KU Leuven in 2015. Following this, they pursued further education and completed a Master's degree in Business Law from both KU Leuven (2015-2017) and King's College London (2015-2016).

Additionally, in 2016, Karel attended a summer school at the University of Pannonia in Hungary, where they gained an introduction to big data. Before their university studies, Karel completed their high school education at Humaniora Kindsheid Jesu, specializing in Sciences & Mathematics (8h), from 2010 to 2012.

Furthermore, Karel Bollen has obtained several certifications to enhance their professional skills. Karel obtained a Certificate for Youth Animation from Vlaamse Overheid in 2013. In 2019, Karel earned the Professional Scrum Master I certification from Scrum.org. Karel continued their professional development by obtaining a Professional Diploma in Customer Experience from The CX Academy in 2020. Karel also completed the Investment Foundations Program offered by the CFA Institute in 2020. Their most recent certifications include Employee Experience from Koos Service Design in 2021 and Strategic Workforce Planning from the Human Capital Institute in 2022.
