Walter Liebkemann has been a practicing radiologist since 2000, when they became a Physician-Partner at Greensboro Radiology. During their time there, they were a member of the Executive Committee from 2007-2013 and had special interests in musculoskeletal imaging, body/oncology imaging, radiology informatics, and computer programming. Walter also developed the PACS Optimizer software for physician workstations. In 2000, they also became a Radiologist-Shareholder at Greensboro Imaging, Inc.
Walter Liebkemann obtained a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering (minor: Mathematics) from Tulane University in 1992, followed by an M.D. from Tulane University School of Medicine in 1996. Walter then completed a Radiology Residency at Wake Forest School of Medicine from 1996 to 2000. In 2000, they obtained their North Carolina Medical License from the North Carolina Medical Board, and was Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology in the same month. In 2009, they obtained a Virginia Medical License from the Virginia Board of Medicine, and in 2018 they obtained a Hawaii Medical License from the Hawaii Medical Board.
