José Octávio Sierra Fernandez

José Octávio Sierra Fernandez has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. José Octávio initially worked as a Chemical Process Trainee at ArcelorMittal, where they focused on the pickling and acid regeneration process. Afterward, José worked as a Technical Research Assistant at the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, where they developed biotechnological process scale-up and mathematical models for biomedical devices. Following this, they joined Tubanharon Process Engineering as the CTO, where they were responsible for industrial process engineering solutions. At GreyLogix Brasil, José held multiple positions, including Principal Process Engineer, where they worked on energy and material balance calculations and process optimization, and Chief Design Engineer, where they managed multiple projects and developed detailed engineering activities. José's experience showcases their expertise in process engineering and their ability to develop innovative solutions for clients.

José Octávio Sierra Fernandez received their education at the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. José Octávio obtained a Doctor of Engineering (EngD.) degree in Chemical Engineering from 2018 to 2023. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Engineering (M.Eng) degree in Chemical Process Technology from 2015 to 2017. José Octávio also holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from 2007 to 2015 and a degree in Food Engineering from 2007 to 2014. In addition to their formal education, José has obtained various certifications in areas such as systems technology, solvent optimization, pH measurement, AutoCAD, language courses, and occupational health and safety.
