Shawn Hinchy

Shawn Hinchy is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in hardware engineering and power electronics. Currently serving as a Senior Hardware Engineer at GridPoint since November 2023 and as Founder & CEO of Backwater Technology LLC since December 2020, Shawn has a rich background that includes a role as Senior Engineer - Power Electronics at GE Renewable Energy from April 2019 to November 2023. Previous positions include HV Power Supply Embedded Software Engineer at Harris Corporation and Senior Lead Electronic Hardware Engineer at GE Energy, where responsibilities included the design and compliance of hardware for turbine control systems. Additional experience includes engineering roles at Harris Corporation, Eastman Kodak C&GS, Philips Lighting, Peko Precision, and Cannon Design. Shawn holds a degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology, completed in 1997.
