Ray Barham has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Ray started their career in 1987 as a Loss Prevention Consultant at Liberty Mutual Insurance and worked there until 1993. From 1993 to 1998, they were employed at Lockheed Martin, first as a Safety Engineer and later as an Aviation Safety Manager. Ray then joined Alcoa in 1998 and held various roles, including Senior Staff Safety Engineer and APGI Vice President. During their time at Alcoa, they were responsible for managing, redeveloping, and divesting of Alcoa owned assets as part of the Asset Management Team. Ray also led state government affairs efforts in several states and held certifications as a Professional Engineer and Certified Maintenance, Reliability Professional. In 2020, Ray joined Joe Morten & Son, Inc. as a Corporate Pilot and in 2021, they assumed the role of Director of Power Management at GRIID.
Ray Barham obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville between 1982 and 1987. Ray later pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Hazardous Waste Management from the National Technological University, which they completed between 1993 and 1995. In 1998 to 2000, Ray Barham earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Lincoln Memorial University.
In addition to their formal education, Ray Barham has obtained several certifications. Ray acquired the Airline Transport Pilot certification from the Federal Aviation Administration in May 2017. Ray also holds a Certified Flight Instructor certification from the same institution, obtained in July 2019. Furthermore, Ray Barham became a Professional Engineer (PE) in June 2021, certified by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Lastly, they hold a retired certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
