Siva Sankar Shanmugavel

Siva Sankar Shanmugavel has a strong background in email marketing and marketing automation. Siva Sankar started their career as a Technical Support Engineer at Smile Outsourcing in 2011. From there, they worked as a UI Developer and HTML Email Developer at Phlox Web Technologies Pvt Ltd in 2012, where they developed web UI and implemented responsive web development and email marketing.

In 2013, Siva joined Lenovo as a Web Developer, where they successfully managed email marketing for Lenovo Brazil and Lenovo EMEA in multiple countries. Siva Sankar also had extensive expertise in coding responsive emails and collaborated closely with the Product and Merchandising Team for promotional and transactional email campaigns.

At Landmark Group, Siva served as an Email Marketing Executive from 2016 to 2018. Siva Sankar managed various campaigns, including welcome programs, customer engagement, user activation, loyalty, and retention. Siva Sankar also implemented product recommendations via emails, resulting in increased revenue. Siva demonstrated proficiency in Responsys, Mailchimp, IBM Silverpop, and Google Analytics.

Siva then joined Shopify in 2018 and held multiple roles. As an Email Marketing Manager, they built an onboarding journey that increased user adoption and retention rates. Siva Sankar also led the ESP migration project, implemented cutting-edge infrastructure, and delivered various lifecycle marketing initiatives to increase GMV. Siva extensively used Salesforce marketing cloud for scaling marketing automation efforts. Later, they became a Senior Marketing Automation Manager at Shopify, leading email and marketing automation initiatives for numerous products. Siva Sankar built a self-serve functionality to handle campaign requests, saving time on repetitive tasks. Siva also worked on GTM strategy, AB tests, and value propositions to better understand the target audience's preferences.

Currently, Siva is the Email Marketing Lead at Grips Intelligence, starting in 2023.

Siva Sankar Shanmugavel completed their Bachelor's degree in Biology, General from PKD Matric Hr.secondary school in 2005. Following that, they pursued a Master's degree in Software Engineering from Anna University, graduating in 2010. In terms of certifications, Siva obtained the Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Email Specialist certification in June 2020 and completed the Journey Builder 101 (JB-101) course from Salesforce. Additionally, they received the Learning Data Analytics certification in August 2017 from LinkedIn. Most recently, Siva acquired the B2B Go-to-Market Strategy: How to Transform Your Business and Cert Prep: PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) certifications from LinkedIn in December 2022.
